Overview
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) invites applications for the Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical & Electrical) Examination 2025 under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Government of India. Eligibility Criteria
General Eligibility
- Nationality: Citizen of India, or subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or person of Indian origin from specified countries with intent to permanently settle in India.
- Educational Qualification: Diploma, B.E., B.Tech., AMIE (Part A & B), or B.Sc. (Engg.) in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Automobile Engineering from a recognized institution, completed by 21 July 2025.
- Age Limit (as on 01 January 2025):
- Up to 30 years for CPWD/CWC posts
- Up to 32 years for other posts (check official notification)
- Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwBD: 10–15 years (as per rules)
- Ex-Servicemen: Deduction of military service years
- Defense Personnel disabled in operations (SC/ST): 8 years
Reservation Notes
- SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD reservations applicable as per government norms.
- Candidates qualifying under relaxed standards (e.g., age, qualifications) counted against reserved vacancies.
- PwBD candidates eligible for posts suitable for disabilities like Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Locomotor Disability, etc. (see notification).

Selection Procedure
Computer-Based Examination
- Objective-type, multiple-choice questions.
- Conducted in multiple shifts (marks normalized if applicable).
- Paper-I: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, General Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical).
- Paper-II: Specialized topics in Civil/Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.

- For BRO posts: Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Standards check.
