Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients.
  • Administer medications, IVs, treatments, and monitor patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including doctors, therapists, and other nurses.
  • Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and recovery.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records and reports.
  • Follow hospital protocols, infection control, and ethical standards.
  • Respond to emergencies and support trauma or critical care as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • Completion of a nursing program (Diploma or Bachelor’s in Nursing).
  • Active RN license from a provincial regulatory body (e.g., CNO, BCCNM, CRNA).
  • Strong understanding of clinical procedures, anatomy, and medical terminology.
  • CPR/BLS certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support may be required).
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, and under pressure in fast-paced environments.

Preferred (Bonus) Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN or BN).
  • Specializations: ICU, ER, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, Oncology, or Mental Health.
  • Experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or community health.
  • Multilingual ability (especially English + French in bilingual provinces).
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
