Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients.
- Administer medications, IVs, treatments, and monitor patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including doctors, therapists, and other nurses.
- Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and recovery.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records and reports.
- Follow hospital protocols, infection control, and ethical standards.
- Respond to emergencies and support trauma or critical care as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- Completion of a nursing program (Diploma or Bachelor’s in Nursing).
- Active RN license from a provincial regulatory body (e.g., CNO, BCCNM, CRNA).
- Strong understanding of clinical procedures, anatomy, and medical terminology.
- CPR/BLS certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support may be required).
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and under pressure in fast-paced environments.
Preferred (Bonus) Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN or BN).
- Specializations: ICU, ER, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, Oncology, or Mental Health.
- Experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or community health.
- Multilingual ability (especially English + French in bilingual provinces).
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
