Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals.
- Manage the full employee life cycle: recruitment, onboarding, development, and offboarding.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian labor laws, occupational health & safety, and equity legislation.
- Handle employee relations, investigations, and performance management.
- Oversee benefits administration, payroll coordination, and policy development.
- Guide team leaders on HR best practices and employment legislation.
- Lead DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) and employee wellness initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 4+ years of HR experience, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Solid knowledge of Canadian employment law and HR compliance standards.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with HR software (e.g., ADP, BambooHR, Ceridian, or Workday).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and handle sensitive matters with discretion.
Preferred (Bonus) Qualifications
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation or equivalent.
- Experience in unionized environments or public sector organizations.
- French/English bilingual (especially for federal/provincial government roles).
- Familiarity with hybrid work policy frameworks and digital onboarding.
- Master's degree in HRM, Industrial Relations, or Organizational Psychology.
