A complete, traveller-friendly checklist for Canadian visas including eTA, Visitor, Study, Work, and Business. Keep both digital and printed copies consistent, follow photo/passport specs, and include purpose-wise documents.
Most Canadian visa applicants start with a standard document pack. Ensure your full name, DOB, and passport number are consistent, scans are clear, and plans/funding are properly documented.
After the core pack, attach purpose-specific proofs. Keep them concise, clear, and relevant.
eTA: online form, upload passport scan/photo, digital purpose proofs. Carry approval for travel. Regular visa: submit printed form, passport, and documents at VAC/Mission; may require biometrics/interview.
Show enough funds to cover stay, transport, meals, and activities. Clarity matters more than volume.
Use this embedded checklist to mark your documents as ready before submission. Keep a digital copy and a printed copy for convenience.
All documents not in English or French must be accompanied by a certified translation.
Mark your documents as ready below. Checkboxes help ensure nothing is missed.
Intended travel dates are usually sufficient for Visitor Visa or eTA. Some categories may request firm bookings; refundable/flexible tickets are recommended.
Typically the last 3–6 months. Ensure your name, account number, and normal activity are visible. Avoid sudden unexplained deposits.
Standardize your name according to your passport. If unavoidable, add a brief note or legal proof of name change.
Provide a credible accommodation plan: hotel bookings, host letter, or family invitation. Immigration may request proof at arrival.
Attach employer letter specifying funding responsibility, business purpose, and dates, plus the Canadian company’s invitation. Payslips may also be requested.
Strongly recommended (and sometimes required for study or medical applicants). Ensure coverage is valid in Canada for the full duration of your stay.
PDF or official letter is preferred. If using emails, print full threads with headers so names, dates, and contacts are visible.
