Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare engineering designs, drawings, and construction specifications.
  • Supervise infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, and water systems.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, field inspections, and geotechnical evaluations.
  • Coordinate with contractors, architects, and government officials.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety laws, and environmental regulations.
  • Analyze survey reports and provide recommendations.
  • Estimate costs, timelines, and material requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (B.Eng or B.Sc.)
  • Licensed or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Canada.
  • 2+ years of relevant civil project experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or similar design software.
  • Strong knowledge of local building codes and construction standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.

Preferred (Bonus) Qualifications

  • Master’s in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • PMP Certification (for project-based roles).
  • Knowledge of construction contract administration (e.g., CCDC documents).
  • Experience in municipal infrastructure, geotechnical or environmental engineering.
  • Bilingual (English and French) is a plus, especially in Quebec or federal roles.
