Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.
- Conduct variance analysis and financial performance reviews.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and government frameworks.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and analysis.
- Assist with procurement and asset accounting.
- Participate in financial policy development and implementation.

Required & Desirable Skills
Required Qualifications
- Education: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional Membership: Membership (or eligibility) with CPA Australia, CA ANZ, or IPA.
- Experience: At least 1–2 years of professional accounting experience.
- Legislation Knowledge: Understanding of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act (PGPA) and relevant accounting standards.
- Technical Skills: Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
- Australian Citizenship (mandatory for APS roles).
Desirable Skills
- Experience working in the public sector or government agencies.
- Knowledge of SAP, TM1, or other financial systems.
- High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
